Verified support
Verified is in a closed beta. We answer every message ourselves, usually within one working day.
Email us: kowshikbhanu1000@gmail.com Tell us your company's name, what you were doing, and what you saw instead. If you can, say whether you use a Mac or a Windows computer.
For interviewers (the Chrome extension)
I installed it. What now?
- Click the Verified icon in Chrome's toolbar. It asks for your access code. Paste the code the Verified team sent your company and click Continue. You only do this once in each Chrome profile.
- Open Google Calendar, create an event and add Google Meet and your guests. A "Verify attendees" card appears under the notification settings, with a switch next to each guest. For a new Google Meet event it starts on. Then save.
- If the card is not there, reload the Calendar page once.
I only want to check some guests. Turn off the switch next to anyone who does not need a check, or turn off the whole card for that event. Colleagues on your own company email domain start off. Verified remembers your choice for each guest.
How does my guest get their link? Open the Verified icon and look under Upcoming. For a call you set up in this Chrome, a guest whose link was not emailed has a Copy link button: copy the link and send it to them yourself. A guest whose link was emailed has a Resend button instead.
What do the results in Meet mean?
- Green "Verified": the checks before the call passed, and the live camera and face checks are fine.
- Grey "Checking" or "Can't confirm": something could not be checked right now. That is not an accusation. Open the panel to see why in plain words, for example that the guest has not started the Verified app yet.
- Amber: a check found something that needs a look, for example "Another app is sending the call video" or "Face doesn't match their camera". A short notice also appears in Meet when it starts. Ask the guest about it; you decide what it means.
- "Not updating": the extension has not heard from Verified for ten seconds. Check your internet connection.
Where are the details? Click the Verified button in Meet's bottom bar, or the badge next to a guest's name.
Something looks wrong. Open the Verified icon, then Help, then Diagnostics. Click Copy log and send it to us. The log can contain your guests' names and emails, so read it before you send it. You can delete it any time with Clear.
How do I stop it? Remove the access code under Help, or remove the extension in Chrome.
For candidates (the Verified app)
What is this? Your interviewer asked guests to run a short check before the call, in front of your own camera. You will see what happens on a consent screen before anything starts, and you can decline and still join the meeting. Keep the app open during the call: it keeps checking.
The app will not open on my Mac. Open System Settings, then Privacy and Security, and allow the Verified app. If it says the app needs a newer macOS, update macOS, or tell your interviewer.
The app asks for Screen Recording permission (Mac). The check looks for windows that are hidden from screen sharing. It does not record your screen.
Windows says "Windows protected your PC" when I open the installer. Choose "More info", then "Run anyway". If Windows blocks it with no such option (Smart App Control), the Verified app cannot be installed on that computer. Please use another computer, or write to kowshikbhanu1000@gmail.com.
My camera is not found, or it says another app is using it. Close other apps that use the camera (video call apps, camera effects tools, OBS) and try again.
The invite email came from send.dearlynotes.app. Is that Verified? Yes. Verified sends its invite emails from invites@send.dearlynotes.app, an address on a sending domain that belongs to an earlier project of Verified's founder. The link in the email opens a page on verifiedcall.duckdns.org. If you are unsure, ask your interviewer for the link instead.
Can I do the check again? Yes. Open your link again. Every interview starts a fresh check.
Delete my data. Write to kowshikbhanu1000@gmail.com with the email address the check link was sent to. We delete it and tell you when it is done.
